The ZOMM Wireless Leash is a key-ring gadget that uses Bluetooth technology to connect with mobile phones to keep people safe and secure in a variety of ways. Created by a mother to help protect her children and designed by a team of world-leading technologists, the multi-functioning gadget is operated by one single button.
The size of a £2 coin, ZOMM was created to easily attach to key rings, belt loops, or clothing and bag straps, to enable it to be carried around everywhere. It can also be worn around the neck to provide urgent access.
The product is designed for people living with health conditions such as diabetes or severe allergies, people with disabilities, or the elderly, who want to live independent lives, but who may require urgent access to personal contacts or emergency services, at any-given time.
Holding down the ZOMM’s single button will immediately sound a piercing alarm, alerting those around that help is needed. Continuing to hold will dial local emergency assistance from anywhere in the world; or the user can customise the number to connect to a loved-one or a specific emergency contact. A further benefit is that, should the user in distress be unable to speak, the ZOMM will automatically play an emergency message informing the recipient that the user requires help. The user can then be located via their GPS coordinates, ensuring help is sent more quickly.
It is also a hands-free device boasting a fully functional speakerphone with a built in noise-cancelling microphone.
