Bob Buist wrote to tell DRWF about the
successful coffee morning held to mark World Diabetes Day (WDD) on Friday 13 November which took place at Waterside Court in St Neots.
Bob said, ‘On behalf of Mrs Archer I am pleased to report that we had a rewarding fund raising day yesterday. This was doubly rewarding as being ‘Friday 13th’ was not an auspicious day to launch this or any other attempt but luck was on our side and all went very well.’
The total raised from the coffee morning was £248.83. This was made up by an entry charge which included tea, coffee and biscuits, a bring and buy, raffle and donations.
Bob continued, 'Considering that this event closely followed the Poppy Appeal and in the midst of Christmas fund raising events the result was very good and shows that there is always a good chance of success if you are blessed with the support of good friends.'
DRWF would like to thank Bob Buist and Mrs Archer, along with everyone who attended the coffee morning, for their kind support to the charity.
