People from Llandeilo were invited to attend a special Mayor's Ball in aid of DRWF, the British Heart Foundation and the RNLI on Saturday 13 March 2010. The ball raised £3,300 for Charity, £1,100 per charity, with donations still coming in.
The Ball took place in the refurbished Llandeilo Civic Hall from 7.30 -11.30pm with a three course home cooked buffet supper, bar and auction. The Tregib School Band played guests in and everyone was dressed in hats or masks with a blues or jazz theme.
'It was marvellous to see so many people dancing afterwards in their hats and masks and a great buzz everywhere. Thank you to the town for being so supportive and lovely, and for all the private donations that have come in too', said organiser Mayor and Consort Cllr Charlotte Leadbeater.
'The auction went well raising £750 , so many thanks to David Cowdry, the Cawdor Hotel, Swansea Grand Theatre and Sensations for their items, and Cllr Edward Thomas for doing such a brilliant job of Auctioneer. The Raffle raised £447.70 so many thanks to all the diners who gave so generously and the shops and individuals who donated prizes, Peppercorn, Blodau Teilo, In Stitches, and Steil.'
'The three course supper was lovely, home made by the Charities, so many thanks for all their hard work to Catherine Horne, Janet Williams, Susan Morgan Jones, Tim Leadbeater, Graham Evans and Lorna Rideout.'
