The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has launched a new page on their website that will allow, for the first time, patients, carers and members of the public to search for the versions of guidance that are written for them on one dedicated site.
The site is searchable by keyword, health care topic, i.e 'diabetes' or by date. In addition, by clicking ‘show all’ the user can access all of the clinical ‘understanding NICE guidance’ documents and all of the public health quick reference guides. The page also gives the user the option to see other versions of the guidance if they wish, and links back to information on how patients, carers and members of the public can get involved with NICE’s work.
'The new page will allow us to provide patients and the public with easy access to information that is specifically tailored to meet their needs. This in turn can help people make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing, and the treatment options available to them', said Victoria Thomas, Associate Director of the Patient and Public Involvement Programme at NICE.
