The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is developing health guidance on ‘Type 2 diabetes: preventing the progression from pre-diabetes’ and are recruiting community members with type 2 diabetes to the group which is being set up to develop this guidance.
Community members of this Programme Development Group will play a key role in making sure that the views, experiences and interests of people who will be affected by the guidance (those who have pre-diabetes and are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes or who face major barriers to improving physical health) inform the development of the guidance and its recommendations to the NHS, local authorities and wider voluntary and community sector audiences.
If you would like to be involved, NICE would welcome an application from you if you have:
- experience or knowledge of pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes or improving physical health among people at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes, for example, as someone:
- who has been involved in activities, groups or campaigns to improve their own and/or their family’s or community’s physical health, or
- who is a member of a high risk group with experience of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes, or
- who is the parent or carer, relative or partner of someone who has experience of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes, or
- who works (paid or unpaid) for a voluntary organisation or charity run by or directly representing the interests of those with pre-diabetes or who are at high risk of type 2 diabetes.
