The Department of Health has asked the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) to develop public health guidance on “Prevention of type 2 diabetes: preventing pre-diabetes among high risk groups”.
To do this, NICE want applications from people (aged 16+) who have experience or knowledge of pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes or improving physical health among people at high risk.
For example, someone:
- who has been involved in activities, groups or campaigns to improve their own and/or their family’s or community’s physical health, or
- who is a member of a high risk group with experience of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes, or
- who is the parent or carer, relative or partner of someone who has experience of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes, or
- who works (paid or unpaid) for a voluntary organisation or charity run by or directly representing the interests of those who are at high risk of diabetes,
and who has an understanding of, and a willingness to reflect, the experiences and needs of a wider network of relevant people (gained, for example, through networks with others with a similar interest in promoting health, such as community groups, support groups, cultural groups, charities or voluntary organisations).
