The National Nutrition & Health Conference, now in its 10th year, attracts over 600 health professionals from across the UK, ranging from dietitians through to GPs.
This year the conference will take place at the Olympia Conference Centre, London from 12-13th November.
DRWF will be holding a special afternoon diabetes satellite session on Friday 13th November to complement the main conference this year. It will focus on diabetes, heart health and weight management and all health care professionals are welcome to come along and listen to the talks.
The DRWF session will include talks by Azmina Govindji, Consultant Nutritionist and TV Dietitian, Andrea Cameron, Lecturer in Exercise at the University of Abertay, Gwen Hall, DSN/Clinical Practice Educator from the Surrey PCT and Pam Dyson, Specialist Diabetes Dietitian at Oxford and Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust.
For the duration of the two day conference DRWF will be at stand 14 for healthcare professionals to get information on how the charity can help support their patients with diabetes.
The charity will also be displaying two brand new patient information leaflets ‘A healthy diet and diabetes’ and ‘Diabetes and exercise’ in addition to their seven existing ones. The authors of the new leaflets will both be doing talks at the DRWF satellite session.
The main conference programme will include over 20 nutrition topics being presented, discussed and dissected by leading opinion leaders.
Practical workshops will run throughout the two days, enabling delegates to learn, revise and refresh their nutrition knowledge, whilst networking and interacting with like-minded colleagues across various health professions.
Key themes for the 2009 National Nutrition and Health Conference are: 'Changing Behaviour & Lives: Strategies for success' and 'Hot Nutrition Topics and Emerging Science', which will focus on the hot topics across primary and secondary care.
The conference is priced at just £79 for 1 day, or £129 for the full 2 days (with online payment). For more information and to register, please visit: www.nutritionandhealth.co.uk
