Light a candle for diabetes

To mark World Diabetes Day on 14 November, purchase and light a World Diabetes Day Candle to help create awareness to the condition. The candles are specially produced by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to encourage individuals to raise global awareness of diabetes on the day. They are blue to match the World Diabetes Day logo and cost 6.05 EURO (£4.85 as of 10 Sept).

A percentage of the income generated by the sale of the candles will go to support children with Diabetes on the IDF Life for a Child Program. In many developing countries, children with diabetes suffer because insulin and other diabetes supplies are not affordable or sometimes not even available. The IDF's Life for a Child Program supports the care of close to 1000 children in the following countries such as Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
