Non-Clinical Research Fellowship 2010

DRWF Research Fellowships are given for research related to causes, cures or complications of diabetes

Applications are invited from:  post-doctoral researchers working or intending to work in the field of diabetes

DRWF Non-Clinical Research Fellowships cover a period of up to 3 years, in a recognised institution or department within the United Kingdom

Support for the 2010 Fellowship is a maximum of £55,000 per year, to include a salary, consumables and some support costs
                                                                                               
Interested applicants are asked to send a Pre-Application maximum of 2 sides A4, detailing:

·          Name, qualifications, contact details and present post;
·          Head of Department, where the grant will be held, the expected post of the applicant within the Department, and contact details of the Department;
·          Signed verification of funding application by Head of Department and department/institution authorities stating "I confirm that this application has been read and that, if granted, the work will be accommodated and administered in the department/institution.";
·  Page 2
·          An abstract of the proposed research work (title, research question of about 300 words, relevance to diabetes, methodology and expected outcome) using single line spacing and an 11 or 12 point clearly readable font;
·          A lay summary of the research question
·          Any additional information to support the application.
 
Plus     a brief curriculum vitae on a separate single sheet of A4.

Closing date for Pre-Applications: 5pm, Friday 13th November 2009

Successful applicants at the pre-application stage will be notified by end January 2010 and will be required to submit a full application by 12 March 2010. Candidates selected for interview will be notified by mid May 2010 and final interview will be held mid June 2010.
The successful applicant will be expected to take up the Fellowship in October 2010.
