DRWF Research Fellowships are given for research related to
causes, cures or complications of diabetes.
Applications are invited from: medically qualified doctors
(MBChB or equivalent) working towards a higher degree, i.e. MD or PhD DRWF Sutherland-Earl Clinical Research Fellowships cover a period of up to three years, in a recognised institution or department within the United Kingdom Support for the 2012 Fellowship is a maximum of £60,000 per year, to include a salary, consumables and some support costs.
PRE-APPLICATIONS
Interested applicants are asked to send a maximum of two sides A4, detailing:

- Name, qualifications, contact details and present post;
- Head of Department, where the grant will be held, the expected post of the
applicant within the Department, and contact details of the Department;
- Signed verification of funding application by Head of Department and
department/institution authorities stating "I confirm that this application has been read and
that, if granted, the work will be accommodated and
administered in the department/institution.";
- Detailed report from applicant and supervisor indicating that the higher
degree is likely to be achieved.

- An abstract of the proposed research work (title, research question of about 300 words,
relevance to diabetes, expected outcome) using single line spacing and an 11 or 12 point
clearly readable font;
- Any additional information to support the application.
Plus: a brief curriculum vitae on a separate single sheet of A4 and details of four External Referees
Submission: 11 hard copies and a single word document emailed
