Increase the value of your gift

If you decide you would like to support our work you may be able to increase the value of your gift by 25%, at no extra cost to yourself!

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a scheme set up by the Government which allows charities such as DRWF to reclaim tax already paid by UK taxpayers on donations they make. We can claim back the basic rate tax you paid when you earned the money you donated to us. This means that for every £1 you give us, we can claim an extra 25p back from the taxman - and it won’t cost you any extra at all!

In addition, the Government will pay DRWF an extra 3p on every £1 you give between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011. This transitional relief does not affect your personal tax position.

If you pay income tax at the higher rate, you can nominate DRWF to receive part or all of any rebate you may be due, on your Self-Assessment tax return.

Three simple Gift Aid rules

For us to benefit from the Government’s Gift Aid scheme there are three simple conditions:

1. We must have your permission to claim back the tax paid on your donations to DRWF.
2. You must be a UK tax payer.
3. The amount you pay in income tax or capital gains tax in a given financial year must be at least equal to the amount we will reclaim in the same year.

Do I have to give my permission every time I donate?

You only need to give us your permission once and we will be able to treat all your future gifts as Gift Aid donations, whether they are small or large, one-off gifts or regular payments. And if you have donated in the past but did not sign a Gift Aid declaration at the time, we can go back and reclaim tax on donations made in the 4 years prior to the date of your declaration.
