A newly launched technology company has received an award for diabetes healthcare delivery.

A new product designed to improve healthcare for people living with diabetes has received an international award.

Spotlight-AQ, has been selected the winner of the 2023 Diabetes Center Berne (DCB) Open Innovation Challenge in the Digital Diabetes category.

The pre-clinic patient assessment platform, created by Spotlight-AQ Ltd, is powered by artificial intelligence and focusses on improving the outpatient consultation of people with diabetes, standardising care, improving physical and mental health outcomes whilst reducing the clinical burden on people living with the condition.

Professor Katharine Barnard, PhD, Chief Science Officer at Spotlight-AQ said: “This is a seismic shift in the way healthcare is delivered for people with diabetes. Our clinical data shows improved physical and mental wellbeing for patients.

“It is time and cost-saving, reducing burnout of doctors and nurses, and delivering efficiencies for health systems. It really is a win:win. Winning the DCB Open Innovation Challenge, we are a huge step closer to making our plans come true”.

The DCB Open Innovation Challenge promotes innovative Swiss and international projects in the field of diabetes management.
