DRWF went quackers for charity at the Great British Duck Race on Sunday 31st August on the River Thames.
This year 170,000 ducks raced down the Thames to raise thousands of pounds for UK charities.
The ducks were loaded into Molesey Lock, near Hampton Court Bridge and at 1.30pm the ducks were released into the 1km race channel. The finish line was at the Sheriff Boat C
lub at Albany Reach.
The ducks took 2 hours to reach the finish line and the first duck over the line won £10,000 for its owner.
Lee Calladine, DRWF Events Co-ordinator said, “It was a successful day for DRWF despite the wet and windy weather. We managed to hand out lots of information on diabetes and answer people’s questions.”
DRWF sold 120 ducks in total and raised roughly £360 from the event.
