The first ever B Festival event in Cheshire went with a bang and raised £1,500 for DRWF.
DRWF supporters from The Jolly Thresher pub, Broomedge, Cheshire, organised the first ever ‘B FESTIVAL’ which took place recently.
The charity event was held to raise money fo
r DRWF and local parish church, St Peter’s, Broomedge. The ‘B’ was for Bands, Beer and BBQ
apparently!
The day kicked-off at 12 midday and the last band was on stage around 10.00pm. The bands were from the local area and all gave spectacular performances and all gave their time voluntarily.
Folk were entertained by the friendly 'BEE' mascot and
there were also visits from local celebrities, including Chris Bisson, (Coronation Street, East is East, Shameless, I'm a Celebrity get me out of Here) and Lee Sharpe, (ex-footballer Celebrity Love Island).
One of the organisers, Jane Holmes says, “Everybody made the atmosphere really special. The good thing is that whilst having so much fun
we managed to raise £3,000 for charity as well!”
From the money raised £1,500 went to Diabetes Research and £1,500 to St Peter's Church, Lymm. DRWF would like to thank the B Festival Committee for their generous donation.
