"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn" - Benjamin Franklin
DRWF hosts an annual programme of Diabetes Wellness Educational Events to support people living with all types of diabetes.
Our Diabetes Wellness Days are designed to provide the tools, knowledge and practical skills needed to manage and improve life with diabetes and ensure that all participants have the opportunity to raise their questions, share their experiences and enjoy the support of a friendly, like-minded diabetes community in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
"I have found every DRWF Diabetes Wellness Day and meeting I have attended to be very informative, helpful, professional, well organised and educational. I am sure my whole attitude towards my diabetes would be much less healthy if I had not had contact with DRWF so soon after my diagnosis. DRWF and the Diabetes Wellness Events have provided me with a friendly and readily available support system, for which I am grateful." - J. Eriksson, West Sussex.
A vibrant exhibition room forms the hub of the event, giving you the opportunity and flexibility to spend as much time as possible visiting the stands and chatting with experts and healthcare professionals. A wealth of diet, lifestyle and the latest blood-glucose meters and diabetes related products and services are on hand.
The programme of talks and sessions focus on the many different topics that are key to good day-to-day management of living life with diabetes. DRWF works closely with NHS specialist diabetes teams to ensure we bring together a wealth of information under one roof and create an empowering learning experience for all.
DRWF subsidises the cost of attendance and whilst there is a small registration charge to help cover costs, this is kept to an absolute minimum to make sure that it is not a barrier to attendance.
