In light of the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis DRWF announce the upcoming Diabetes Wellness Day South will be postponed with immediate effect.
DRWF announced the postponement of the annual Diabetes Wellness Day South.
The event set to be held at Solent Hotel and Spa, Whiteley, Hampshire on 13th June will no longer take place as we monitor the ongoing situation regarding COVD-19 and recommendation for people to self-isolate.
The event is a highlight of our annual educational programme and a great opportunity for the community of DRWF supporters and healthcare professionals to learn more about the condition and it is with a heavy heart that we cannot provide this event as planned.
We hope you understand this decision and we will look forward to your continued support as we review the situation in the coming weeks and months.
Sarah Tutton, Chief Executive at DRWF, said: “Like all charities, we are currently reviewing all of our activities in light of the enormous challenges that COVID19 presents.
“We have not taken the decision lightly to cancel any of our events but do so within government and public health guidelines and with the best interests of our supporters and beneficiaries at heart.
“Right now, we are all incredibly worried about this situation. We are making changes to our everyday lives to reflect a rapidly changing environment.
“We will continue to do everything we can to protect DRWF staff and volunteers and deliver the support that our beneficiaries need – this may look very different in the way in which we delivery our messages and activities, but we will do whatever it takes to continue offering our support to you, in a way that is accessible.
“Please let us know if we can help and we will do our very best.”
