At DRWF we encourage anyone with diabetes, especially those prone to experiencing hypoglycaemia, to wear or carry medical identification in case of an emergency.

Our wristbands are designed to alert anyone providing emergency medical assistance to the condition of the individual. This can help speed up diagnosis and treatment considerably and could even mean the difference between life and death.

Why are medical IDs important?

In a world where the unexpected can happen, safety should always be a priority, especially when managing diabetes.

DRWF Event Co-ordinator Lee Calladine shares a powerful message: "Wearing something that says you have diabetes is so important, especially for those on insulin or glucose lowering medications."

He speaks from personal experience, recalling a time he was taken to hospital unconscious where his medical ID "told the A&E team exactly what they needed to know."

Lee emphasizes, "I never go anywhere without my diabetes wristband and other medical ID. They are my small but mighty diabetes guardian angels."

This isn't just about identification; it's about providing crucial information in an emergency and offering you peace of mind.

As Lee urges, "I feel safer wearing something that let's people know I have Type 1 Diabetes and take insulin. I urge everyone with diabetes to do the same."

Your health is paramount, and a simple ID can be a lifesaver.
