A statement from Public Health England said: “The impact and experience of the past 18 months has been different for everyone, as have our reactions, but there’s no doubt it’s been a difficult time for us all. That’s why it’s so important to look after our mental health and wellbeing; now more than ever.
The DRWF information leaflet Exercise and diabetes explains why exercise is so important for people with diabetes: “People who exercise have lower blood pressure, lower heart rates and improved circulation. They also have lower cholesterol and less body fat, as well as higher rates of metabolism and consequently better weight control. They sleep better, have more energy, are less stressed/anxious and are happier and more confident.”
