DRWF is preparing to welcome guests to The Solent Hotel and Spa at Whiteley, Hampshire for our annual Diabetes Wellness Day South.

DRWF Diabetes Wellness Days provide a relaxed, informal setting where you can learn about the many aspects of managing your diabetes. Family members, friends and carers are encouraged to attend.
The event is part of our United Through Diabetes annual educational event programme with even more content for you to access, learn and empower you in your diabetes management.

Our Diabetes Wellness Days are designed to provide all the tools, knowledge and skills needed to manage all forms of diabetes and live a happy and comfortable life. We would love you to join us.
Managing and living with diabetes can be a challenge, which is why we have created our Diabetes Wellness Days to support people living with all forms of diabetes.
Over the last decade our Diabetes Wellness Programme has gone from strength to strength in providing information, advice, support and the practical skills needed to manage and improve life for people living with diabetes.

Why should I attend a Diabetes Wellness Day?
The Diabetes Wellness Days bring together a wealth of information under one roof for people living with diabetes, their family members, carers, friends and those with an interest in the condition. The chance to learn, explore and gather the tools, understanding and practical skills needed to improve life with diabetes and the keys to healthier living are provided, ensuring all participants have the opportunity to raise their questions, share their experiences and enjoy the support of a friendly, like-minded diabetes community in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. At our days you can learn how to take better control of your diabetes and go home armed with the know-how to change your life and health for the better.


The programme
The day will begin with a breakfast and networking session, followed by presentations from the South East Hampshire Community Diabetes Service and a Diabetes Question Time with the South East Hampshire Community Diabetes Service.
Refreshments
Tea, coffee, cold refreshments and fresh bacon or sausage breakfast baps will be served for 9am arrival and the start of the event. Gluten free, halal and meat free options will also be available. Please let us know your dietary requirements or any allergies when you book your place.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available during the morning.

What makes the Diabetes Wellness Days special?
It is the collaboration between DRWF, the specialist diabetes teams and regional healthcare services, complimenting and reinforcing key health messages to support improved blood glucose control and the enhanced feelings of well-being people experience after attending the events.
Award-winning event
The DRWF team were delighted to be awarded the Judges' Special Award and Highly Commended in the Empowering People with Diabetes category at the 2017 Quality in Care (QiC) awards evening. This award recognises the innovative practice demonstrating quality in diabetes management, education and services for people with diabetes and/or their families, throughout the UK.
The judges said: “The events are clearly user-focused, providing an opportunity for peer support and re-engaging those users who have missed out on a structured education.”
In November 2018 DRWF were also awarded Charity of the Year at the Diabetes Professional Care Industry Awards.
United Through Diabetes Digital Hub
Resources and presentations from previous United Through Diabetes events are available in the Digital Hub.
We will create a new UTD Digital Hub for 2026 that will feature all our event content from the 2026 programme including supporting resources and sponsor features.
