DRWF Fundraising: Brains put to the test in support of diabetes research

Charity quiz night and dinner to support DRWF.

A charity quiz night was hosted by Langstone Park in Havant, Hampshire recently in support of DRWF.

The quiz was held in The Hub café at the business centre located at Langstone Road, that is also the HQ of DRWF.

As you might expect there was some diabetes trivia – could you name the scientist that discovered insulin? – alongside a host of general knowledge questions.

Langstone Park invited businesses working at the office buildings to join in to launch the new restaurant supplier onsite. The quiz included a complementary meal – curry and dessert – and a glass of wine/non-alcoholic beverage.

The quiz was won by the team from Shine Networks who shared a selection of treats and goodies following their well contested victory.

A sum of £150 was raised by DRWF from entries to the event.

Tim Green, Head of Community Fundraising at DRWF, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the fantastic turnout for our Charity Quiz Night at Langstone Park – more than 60 people joined us for a fun, brain-teasing evening that was closely contested right to the end! With just one point separating the top two teams going into the final round, it was Shine Networks who ultimately claimed victory. Huge congratulations to them, and also to Cara Wilcocks from MCI, who won £100 in our football blackout draw. It was a brilliant night of community spirit, competition, and generosity – all in support of our work at DRWF. A massive thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the event such a success.”
