DRWF Fundraising: Dance For Diabetes raising awareness at schools
Upcoming event details with new resources launched on diabetes symptoms and healthy eating for young people.
DRWF, in partnership with Funkidz Dance, has announced details of the upcoming Dance for Diabetes programme, that educates families while supporting primary schools.
The annual Dance for Diabetes event has been extremely successful, raising more than £50,000 in just 3 years for participating schools and DRWF.
Many Hampshire-based schools have participated during this time; sharing more than £20,000 between them as a direct result of our pledge to donate 40p of every £1 raised back to the schools.
To coincide with the launch of this year’s Dance for Diabetes, DRWF is pleased to publish two new educational resources on:
Top Tips for a Healthy Packed Lunch

Schools receive a host of readymade classroom resources supported by a step-by-step and simple to follow dance video, choreographed to a well-known pop song by Hampshire-based afterschool provider, FunKidz Dance.
At the start of the Summer Term and for the following six weeks through to the performance week, on 19th–23rd May, schools are asked to show the video in classes for around 5 minutes, 2-3 times a week.
This will familiarise pupils with the dance, foster pupil togetherness and increase engagement in readiness for a whole school performance and non-school uniform day at the end. During this time, pupils will take home a pre-packed welcome letter and sponsorship pack allowing them to gain sponsorship for their efforts.
