The course took participants past many of the city's landmarks, including the Wales Millennium Centre and the Principality Stadium.

Lois Jenkins (pictured), who raised a fabulous £570, said: “Thank you to the whole DWRF team for the opportunity. My first half marathon was completed in 1 hour 58 minutes with a huge smile on my face. I loved it.”

Carly Price, who raised an incredible £950, said: “It was a pleasure to run for DRWF, and I am over the moon at the amount raised. My two children, Jenson and Aria are living with type 1 diabetes and are due to hit the one-year mark since diagnosis. I had many people ask along the route about them both as I had their picture and your symbol on my back. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to support DRWF and I will continue to do so in any way that I can.”

Kerry Chambers, Community Engagement Fundraiser at DRWF, said: “We are so proud of all our incredible runners who took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of DRWF. Their energy, commitment, and determination truly embody the spirit of #TeamDRWF. Every mile they ran helps us move closer to our goal of supporting people living with diabetes and funding vital research. We are so grateful for their amazing efforts and for everyone who sponsored and cheered them on along the way.”
