The DRWF team of runners participate in capital half marathon event to support people living with diabetes.

An international team of 24 runners supporting DRWF recently took to the streets of London for a fundraising half marathon, raising more than £18,000 in the process.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon takes in some of the city's famous attractions and beautiful views over its 13.1-mile course.

Amongst those taking part to support the charity were supporters from the US, France and Germany, as well as the UK.

Runners set-off from Pall Mall and on through central London, crossing the historic Westminster Bridge to finish by Downing Street. The route took in impressive views of Big Ben, St Paul's Cathedral, Nelson's Column, the Gherkin, the Shard, the Tower of London and the London Eye.

The flat route combined with a fantastic atmosphere, provided a perfect half marathon for beginners or experienced runners chasing a personal best.

Kerry Chambers, Community Engagement Fundraiser at DRWF, said: “What an incredible achievement from our London Landmarks runners. Raising more than £18,000 is a fantastic result, and we are grateful to every participant, including those who travelled from overseas to be part of this year’s event.

“Their dedication helps us continue supporting people living with diabetes every day.”
