This week is Remember A Charity Week and we are asking supporters to consider pledging a gift to DRWF in their Will.

Have you considered leaving a gift in your Will to the charities you love?

As part of Remember A Charity Week from 8 to 14 September, DRWF asks supporters to consider leaving a gift to the charity to support vital awareness, education and medical research programmes.

A gift in your Will is more than a donation—it’s a legacy of hope, compassion, and change that lives on beyond your lifetime.

Anyone can leave a gift to charity in their Will, no matter the size. Large and small gifts in Wills form the bedrock of our income enabling us to create new support programmes, expand our reach of the diabetes community, and deliver more impact through our educational activities and research funding strategy.

This year, the Remember A Charity campaign encourages us to remember the funny moments, interesting hobbies and unique quirks that we cherish about our loved ones.

“We're encouraging everyone to think about how they'd like to be remembered, and to consider leaving a gift in their Will to the causes they care about.”

What a gift to DRWF can do

Although there is no obligation to remember DRWF in your Will, we hope you will consider the huge difference a gift in your Will can make.

Your gift will enable us to continue supporting vital research, running our Diabetes Educational Wellness Event Programmes, in addition to providing much needed support and advice to people living with all forms of diabetes.

Claire Levy, DRWF PR and Communications, who is also living with type 2 diabetes said: “Funding research into new treatments and new technologies has transformed the lives of people living with all forms of diabetes, including myself as someone with type 2 diabetes.

“DRWF has funded some amazing research over the last 25 years, made possible by the very generous donations of our supporters, which has really advanced our knowledge of the different types of diabetes and how to manage and treat it. We will only find a cure through research and your gift could make all the difference.”

Leaving a ‘gift of hope’ in your Will

When making your Will, your first thought will be for taking care of family and friends. Following which, you might like to consider leaving a gift to a favoured charity or cause close to your heart, thereby leaving a gift of hope for future generations.

Many charities, that exist on donations and voluntary income, could not survive without the wonderful gifts that are left to them in Wills, and DRWF is no exception.

With your help, we are investing in a brighter future for people with diabetes. Just imagine, your last gift could be the beginning of someone else’s future.
