Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) confirm that DRWF has successfully passed the AMRC 2025 Expert Review Audit.

AMRC have confirmed that DRWF meets the criteria to pass the 2025 Expert Review Audit.

The audit findings recognise that DRWF uses robust and rigorous research funding processes.

Proportionality, independence, diversity, rotation, impartiality and transparency are all elements that are included in the principles for meeting the audit requirements.

DRWF is a member of the AMRC, a membership body representing the leading medical and health research charities who deliver high-quality research that saves and improves lives.

Working with member charities and partners, AMRC aims to support voluntary sector effectiveness and advance medical research by developing best practice, providing information and guidance, improving public dialogue about research and science, and influencing government.

A statement from the AMRC said: “Congratulations to DRWF on meeting our six principles of expert review! This achievement demonstrates your commitment to robust and rigorous research funding processes and your dedication to supporting the highest-quality research.

“Thank you for taking part in the audit, and congratulations once again on this well-deserved achievement.”

DRWF said: “We have passed the AMRC Expert Review Audit, meeting AMRC's six principles of expert review confirms that we use robust and rigorous research funding processes, helping us to fund the best research and driving better health outcomes for our community.”

 

AMRC announced the audit results on 14th July.

In June we reported that DRWF were among charities set for £37 million boost to support early career researchers.

An award of £37 million in funding will be shared amongst medical research charities to support early career researchers, with DRWF among those set to benefit.

The funding was announced by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in partnership with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC).


The aim of the funding award is to help medical research charities like DRWF continue to play a vital role in igniting research careers, building research capacity and sustaining the talent pipeline.
