Entries open for 2023 Quality in Care Diabetes Awards
Opportunity for healthcare professionals working in diabetes care to recognise the work of colleagues and teams.
The Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes Awards are set to mark their 13th year with their upcoming ceremony – and the occasion presents an opportunity to thank healthcare professionals working in diabetes care and their supporters.
The awards recognise, reward, and share good practice for people living with diabetes and their carers and families.
Entries are open now to share examples of good practice – and provide an opportunity to win one of the prestigious awards and be recognised for inspirational work in diabetes.
There are seven categories to enter, including new for 2023, Peer Support. There are also three nomination categories:
- Outstanding Educator in Diabetes
- Diabetes Professional of the Year
- The People’s Award
A statement from QiC Diabetes said: “We look forward to seeing your inspirational work and thank you again for all the work that you do.”
The judging day will take place on Friday, 8th September and the awards ceremony will take place at programme partner Sanofi’s headquarters in Reading on Thursday, 12th October 2023.
Debbie Woods, Head of Medical, General Medicines UK and Ireland, Sanofi, said: “Sanofi is delighted to support the QiC Programme in 2023 and to recognise and reward the innovations that will benefit people living with diabetes. The QiC programme is at the forefront of sharing best practice to improve the quality of care, through demonstrating novel solutions to problems encountered by health care professionals and those impacted by diabetes on a daily basis. The commitment to quality of care is a core value of the NHS and the QIC programme is a shining example of that value in practice.”
Entries are invited from anyone working in diabetes care throughout the UK and Ireland. Whatever the area of patient care, if your initiative or programme relates to diabetes in any way, you should enter it. Judges are keen to review a wide spectrum of entries and recognise the innovative practice that we know is out there.
DRWF has supported the QiC awards program since they started 13 years ago.
Sarah Tutton, Chief Executive of DRWF, said: “The QiC awards provide us with a wonderful opportunity to recognise people who are inspiring and totally committed to improving and delivering the best possible diabetes care. It’s a lovely way in which to acknowledge and thank those that go above and beyond, and we are delighted to support the program.”
