The National Diabetes Audit is seeking input from healthcare professionals working in diabetes in an online survey and workshops.

The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is looking for healthcare professionals working in diabetes to complete an online survey.

The National Diabetes Audit (NDA) specification engagement survey seeks feedback on a high-level summary which will inform the commissioning of the National Diabetes Audit (NDA).

The feedback will be used to refine a requirements specification for the audit which will set out what the audit should look like, what it should do, what it should produce and what it should achieve from June 2022 until June 2025.

Those asked to contribute include those who:

  • Receive care, including people affected by diabetes, their families and carers and charities;
  • Deliver care, including clinical professionals, providers of care, royal colleges, professional societies and organisations which develop clinical and professional standards of best practice;
  • Commission care, including national and local commissioners;
  • Regulate care.
The survey, which should take around 30 minutes to complete, can be accessed here until 15th June.

The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) commission the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) programme which measures the effectiveness of diabetes healthcare against clinical guidelines and quality standards in England and Wales. Further information on the current programme can be found here

A statement from HQIP said: “We are developing the specification for the new programme due to start in 2022; the specification sets out what the programme will do and what it will produce and we are seeking the views of charities and individuals affected by diabetes to feed into the specification.

“We will also be holding a focus group in June for a more open discussion where we are inviting people affected by diabetes to give their views on the NDA and to hear about the areas of diabetes care that are most important to them.”

These will be in the form of two hour sessions held virtually on the following dates:

Monday 7th June – afternoon

Thursday 17th June – morning
