Research project looking at how diet can impact on self-management of the condition.

A student research project is looking for volunteers to participate in a study on how type 1 diabetes and diet are linked.

People both living with type 1 diabetes in relation to their diet with the condition, and people without the condition with regular eating habits for comparison, are invited to contribute to the study.
The study is being conducted by Luke Wild, an undergraduate student at the University of Greater Manchester.

Luke said: “This is a topic close to my heart and an area I think important to research. This is being conducted using a questionnaire which should take around five minutes to complete.”
This study has received ethical approval from the Psychology Ethics Committee at the University of Greater Manchester.

NOTE: DRWF will from time-to-time advise readers of ‘calls to participate’ in diabetes and related health research studies. It should not necessarily be considered that the charity is in any way connected to the study or the group issuing the call for participants. If we are involved in any way, we will make this known. We will only share external calls where we have confirmed that the study holds ethics committee approval, and the study is specific to diabetes and related health. Taking part in a medical research study is a big step and further helpful information can be found via the National Institute for Health and Care Research Clinical Trials Guide.
