Living With Diabetes 46 - Comedy and Being On The Road With Type 2

In this episode of our special women's health series, we talk to Sarah Bool, the Member of Parliament for South Northamptonshire. Sarah is living with type 1 diabetes after being diagnosed when she was 33. She now sits on the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diabetes. This is the first episode of eight special programmes, in our Living with Diabetes series, which takes an in depth look at women’s health issues.

We continue our investigation into the challenges of diagnosing Type 1 in infants. Claire Levy talks with Professor Parth Narendran, who is part of a national effort to explore the feasibility of early surveillance programmes for pre-type 1 diabetes and which therapies are best tested in the prevention arena. Claire also speaks with John Story, the father of Lyla Story - who tragically died in early May 2025 from DKA.

We discuss the challenges of diagnosing Type 1 in infants following the tragic death of a two year old girl who went into DKA before the auto-immune condition was identified.
