Diabetes can affect the health of your eyes, causing long-term complications if not properly treated. Attending eye screening appointments and maintaining good control of your diabetes can reduce issues with your eyes.

Type 1 Diabetes Comics

Our friends Dr Mayank Patel, Consultant in Diabetes at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and DRWF Editorial Advisory Board Member, and Professor Partha Kar, Consultant Endocrinologist at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and National Specialty Advisor, Diabetes for NHS England teamed up with the Revolve Comics Publishing Company and people living with type 1 diabetes to create their award-winning comic book series about diabetes-beating superheroes. We were lucky to have them at United Through Diabetes to meet our attendees and discuss their inspiration to take the comics from concept to page.

Family Area Fun Fact Cards 

As part of our type 1 diabetes family stream, we made some fun fact cards for the kids attending United Through Diabetes. These cards are a fun way for children to learn little pieces of information about diabetes, history and how to manage the condition.
